What's better than an Extreme Day Trip from the UK?

An Extreme Day Trip that starts from within Europe. It gives you a load of time at your destination for a crazy little price.

Whilst you are away, a whole new set of day trips opens up.

What are Extreme Getaways?

Your next European getaway, found and built for you.

Tell us which UK airports are within reach, how long you want to go for and roughly when you can travel. Extreme Getaways searches cheap flights in both directions, onward routes and different city orders to uncover trips that are almost impossible to spot one search at a time.

That could be a £30 city break, two European cities for less than one standard return, or a route that adds an Extreme Day Trip once you are already in Europe. Every option shows where you go, how many nights you get, how you get home and what the whole flight route costs.

See more of Europe for less. The searching, comparing and route building are already done.

⚡ Introducing the Extreme Day Trip Connector

Pisa for the day. Ibiza by bedtime.

It has the energy of an Extreme Day Trip, but instead of flying back home, you fly on to the next exciting destination.

Not every good trip is a return flight

One city. Two cities. Sometimes three.

A cheap city break when one place works best. A multi-city European trip when the low-cost flight routes line up.

↩ Open jaw

You don't have to come home the way you came.

An open-jaw flight home may land at a different nearby airport. If it creates a cheaper or more practical European route, we show you exactly how far apart the airports are.

Destinations unlocked

Your local airport opens up a much bigger map.

Extreme Getaways searches complete routes, not isolated flights. A well-priced first leg can open up cities that never appear in a normal return search, with every onward flight and the journey home already joined together.

Destinations unlocked from Gatwick

These are a few examples from the current search, not the limit of where you could go. Fares and routes move, so the Finder keeps testing the combinations for you.

Save your time. Save your sanity.

You can search all weekend and still not know if you found the best one.

A cheap flight out is only the start. The real work is finding the right dates, joining the cities together and getting home without the final fare wiping out the bargain. You can pan for hours and never know whether you found the gold or just gave up near it.

Your departure board

The UK on one side. Europe on the other. Hundreds of ways between them.

This is the whole network currently on the board. Every glowing point is a city we can connect into a real getaway, and every line is a fare combination we have checked from a major UK airport.

How it all got started

The trip was brilliant. Finding it nearly broke me.

Last summer I wanted an affordable multi-city trip around Europe for me and my kids. It took several days of searches, spreadsheets and different flight combinations before Barcelona and Milan finally lined up at a price that worked.

BarcelonaSagrada Família, the Olympic Stadium, the harbour, La Rambla and the best tapas we could find.
Milan and beyondLake Como, the San Siro, Monza Formula One track, the Duomo and Milan city centre.

Two major European cities packed into one unforgettable trip. The three flights cost £79 per person in total. I loved it and wanted something similar this year. I just could not face going through all that searching again.

I wanted one simple answer: “I live near this airport. I want to go away for two to four nights. Where can I go that gives me the most time in the best places for the best value?” That is how Extreme Getaways was born.

The big question

How Is This Different From Skyscanner Or Google Flights?

They are powerful tools. If you know exactly where you want to go and when, nothing beats them.

But like most people, you are probably thinking "I want to go away for a few nights in October, from any of my three local airports." And it is all the combinations you have to trawl through after that:

Try the first airport: two nights, three nights, four nights.

Guess the best start date. Leave on the Monday? The Tuesday?

Guess again. Try a different week.

Try a different airport. Fly back to a different one?

Wince and repeat.

Each search is a fresh start, and each result is gone the moment you run the next one. We got tired of the wincing and repeating bit, so we're doing something about it.

Where we come in

They Hand You A Pan. We Hand You The Gold.

Then you just pick the piece you like.

We ran the whole search: every airport you would travel from, every trip length from one night to a week, every day you could leave, every city order and every sensible way home. What comes back is a handful of complete trips, priced, dated and ready to book. The best on the board, not the best you had the patience to find.

1,000+ journeys from Manchester alone. Narrow it however you like.

A new way to get away. From a team you already know.
